You'll learn how to: Use the Start Relationships workflow to view reasons to connect, suggested messages, and ICP scores, then reach out and mark outcomes.
Time: 1-2 minutes per connection (including the LinkedIn outreach step).
Prereqs: The Nynch Chrome extension is installed (see Installing the Chrome extension). You have people queued in the Start Relationships workflow (added via "Add to connect" on a profile or bulk action).
What is Start Relationships
Start Relationships is Nynch's guided outreach workflow. It shows you people to reach out to, gives you a reason why it makes sense to connect (based on your target profile), suggests a personalized message, and tracks the outcome (connected, already connected, passed).
You can work the queue directly in the Nynch app or use the Chrome extension to stay on LinkedIn while you connect.
View the queue in the extension
Step 1: Navigate to a queued person's profile
- Visit a LinkedIn profile of someone in your Start Relationships queue.
- The Nynch extension's side panel loads and displays the Start Relationships banner at the top.
The banner shows
- Reason to connect: a one-line summary of why Nynch thinks you should reach out (for example, "Growing company in your target market" or "Hiring in your ICP").
- Suggested message: a short, personalized draft message you can send when you connect.
- ICP score badge: a percentage showing how well this person matches your ideal customer profile.
- "Add to my message" button: copies the suggested message into LinkedIn's message composer.
Connect on LinkedIn
Step 1: Click LinkedIn's Connect button
- On the LinkedIn profile, click the Connect button (or Follow if you are not connected yet).
- LinkedIn's native connection dialog opens.
Step 2: Optionally use the suggested message
Two approaches:
Quick: Just send a standard connection request (no message).
- LinkedIn shows a default message like "I'd like to add you to my network."
- Click Send.
- The extension detects the sent connection and marks it.
Personalized: Use Nynch's suggested message.
- In the Nynch extension's Start Relationships banner, click "Add to my message".
- This copies the suggested message into LinkedIn's message composer.
- Review the message. You can edit it if you want.
- Click Send in LinkedIn's dialog.
Step 3: Auto-advance
Once you have sent the connection request (with or without a message):
- The extension detects the action automatically.
- The Start Relationships queue advances to the next person.
- If you want to connect to the person anyway (already connected), the extension shows an option to skip or mark as connected.
Outcomes and next steps
The extension tracks three outcomes for each person in the queue:
- Connected: you sent a connection request. This person is now in a "New Connection" state and can be messaged after they accept.
- Already connected: you were already connected to this person. Click Mark as connected and the queue moves on.
- Skip: you don't want to reach out to this person right now. Click Skip and the queue advances.
Once someone accepts your connection, they can move into the New Connections workflow, where Nynch can help you send a thoughtful first message.
Viewing the full queue in Nynch
If you want to see all people in the Start Relationships queue or filter by ICP score, lead stage, or company:
- Open Nynch in a separate tab (or click "View in Nynch" if available in the extension).
- Go to Engage > Start Relationships.
- You'll see the full queue, sorted and filterable, with metrics on each card.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: The Start Relationships banner doesn't appear. → Fix: This person is not in the Start Relationships queue. Click "Add to connect" on the profile (not "Add to Nynch") to queue them.
- Symptom: I sent a connection but the queue didn't auto-advance. → Fix: The extension may have a short sync delay (2-5 seconds). Wait a moment and refresh the page. If the queue still doesn't advance, you can manually click Next or go back to the queue in Nynch.
- Symptom: The suggested message seems off or doesn't match this person. → Fix: You can edit the message before sending. Nynch's suggestions are based on ICP data, but you know the relationship better. Personalize as needed.
- Symptom: The ICP score is very low but I still want to connect. → Fix: Go ahead. You can connect to anyone. The ICP score is advisory. If you want to work on improving ICP matching, review your ICP settings in Nynch.
- Symptom: Someone I connected to is not moving to "New Connections" workflow. → Fix: They first need to accept your connection request. Once they accept, they will appear in the New Connections workflow. This can take days or weeks.
Comparing extension vs. app workflows
| Step | Extension | App |
|---|---|---|
| View queued person | Profile page banner | Engage > Start Relationships table |
| See reason + message | Yes, inline | Yes, inline |
| Connect on LinkedIn | Click LinkedIn button, extension tracks | You handle externally |
| Auto-advance | Yes, detects connection sent | N/A |
| Full queue view | Limited (one at a time) | Full list, sortable, filterable |
| Mark outcomes | Yes, via banner | Yes, via table |
Use the extension for rapid one-at-a-time outreach while staying on LinkedIn. Use the app for queue review, bulk actions, and detailed filtering.
