You'll learn how to: Turn your network into a referral engine by identifying warm intro opportunities and crafting targeted asks.
Time: 10-15 minutes per session, end-to-end.
Prereqs: You have contacts in Nynch with relationship notes or signals. Coaching enabled on your plan.
When to use
- Quarterly business planning: "Who in my network can open doors?"
- After a win with a similar company: "Who else should I talk to?"
- When you're targeting an account: "Does someone I know have a relationship there?"
- Before a fundraise or partnership push: "How do I activate advocates?"
The session produces a list of potential introducers, the right timing and framing for each ask, and a message template you can use immediately.
Steps
- At the bottom-left of the sidebar, toggle to Strategy mode.
- Click Coaching.
- The Coaching hub shows 12 canvases grouped by category.
- Click Referral & Network (under Relationships & Accounts).
- A setup screen asks you to define the referral target:
- A specific person or company you want an intro to (recommended).
- A type of connection (investor, partner, first customer, etc.).
- An industry or role you want to target.
- Pick one. Click Start.
- The coach opens with a brief intro: what this session is for and what data it sees.
- The chat-style session begins. Typical flow:
- The AI asks you about the target: who they are, why they matter, and what outcome you want.
- It scans your network for potential introducers and mutual connections.
- It asks you about relationship strength and recent interactions with candidates.
- It ranks potential introducers by relationship quality and their likely willingness to help.
- It generates a message template tailored to each introducer.
- It suggests timing and context for the ask (after a win, before a meeting, etc.).
- Save / export the output. Suggested actions:
- Send the message to your strongest candidate first.
- Personalise the template based on your most recent interaction.
- Track outcomes on the contact canvas.
What's in the typical output
- List of 3-5 potential introducers, ranked by relationship strength and likelihood to help.
- For each introducer: their relationship to the target, recent interactions with them, and suggested context.
- Customised message templates for each introducer that feel authentic to your relationship.
- Recommended timing for the ask based on recent touchpoints.
- Talking points on why the intro matters and what value the target might see.
- Backup options if your first choice doesn't respond.
After the session
Send the first message or schedule a call with your top candidate introducer. Log the outcome on their contact card so you can refine your ask for the next opportunity.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "Referral & Network canvas isn't in the Coaching hub." → Fix: Your plan doesn't include Coaching. Check avatar > Settings > Account.
- Symptom: "No suitable introducers found." → Fix: Your network in Nynch is too small or lacks relationship signals. Add more contacts and log your relationships with them (company, role, how you know them). The coach works better with richer relationship data.
- Symptom: "Suggested introducers don't feel right." → Fix: Relationship quality is based on signals you've logged. Add more detail (recent conversations, shared interests, collaboration history) to the contact notes and retry.
- Symptom: "Message templates feel generic." → Fix: The coach personalises based on what it knows about your relationship. Explain more context in your answers to the coach's questions, or add richer notes to the introducer's contact card.
- Symptom: "Session ended without producing a list." → Fix: The coach needs you to clearly define the target and answer questions about your network. If you were vague, restart and be more specific about who you're trying to reach and why.
