Use the Prospect Finder

You'll learn how to: Search for prospects you don't already have in Nynch, using ICP-aware filters and AI search.

Time: 5-15 minutes per session.

Prereqs: Your Go To Market is set up with at least one priority ICP (see Configure an ICP). Otherwise the finder works but results are less relevant.

When to use

The Prospect Finder is for adding NET-NEW contacts, not for managing the ones you have. Use it when:

  • Your existing network is tapped out and you need to widen the top of the funnel.
  • You've defined a new ICP and want to populate it.
  • You're researching a specific industry, geography, or job title.
  • You're doing competitive intelligence (finding people who work at competitor / target companies).

For contacts you already know, use the regular Contacts table.

Steps

  1. In the secondary nav, click Expansion (or Prospect Finder if your workspace surfaces it as a top-level item).
  2. The finder page loads with a filter sidebar on the left and a results pane on the right.
  3. Configure the search:
    • ICP: pick one of your priority ICPs to auto-fill industry, role, and company-size filters.
    • Industry: SaaS, services, consumer, healthcare, etc.
    • Job title (contains, equals, starts with): e.g. "Head of Marketing".
    • Seniority: VP-level, director, manager, IC.
    • Company size: employee headcount ranges.
    • Location: city, country, or region.
    • Tech stack: tools the company uses (if your plan supports tech-detection).
    • Funding stage (for venture-backed targets).
    • AI search: a free-text box for "describe the person you want to find" if your plan supports it.
  4. Hit Search (or filters auto-apply).
  5. Results stream in. Each row shows:
    • Name, headline, current company.
    • LinkedIn URL.
    • ICP fit score (predicted, since they're not in your network yet).
    • Add to network action.
  6. Tick the rows you want to add.
  7. Click Add to Nynch in the bulk action.

The selected prospects land as new contacts. Bulk actions like Enrich, Add to Campaign, or Assign to Rhythm are immediately available.

Credits

Adding a prospect to your network typically uses credits (LinkedIn enrichment is bundled in for the import). The bulk add confirms the cost before committing.

For larger searches, run a sample first (add 5-10 prospects) to confirm result quality, then commit to a bigger batch.

Tune the filters as you go

The first search is rarely perfect. Pattern that works:

  1. Run a broad search.
  2. Look at the first 20 results.
  3. Note which ones look right and which don't.
  4. Tighten the filters (narrow seniority, add a tech-stack signal, exclude a wrong industry).
  5. Re-run.
  6. Repeat 2-3 times until the result list is mostly people you'd actually want to talk to.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Expansion / Prospect Finder isn't in the sidebar." → Fix: Your plan may not include it. Check Settings > Account.
  • Symptom: "Search returns zero results." → Fix: Filters too narrow. Loosen at least one (broaden seniority, drop a tech filter, widen location).
  • Symptom: "Results don't match my ICP at all." → Fix: Don't rely on ICP alone; manually add specific filters (industry, title, location). The ICP setting is a starting point, not a magic match.
  • Symptom: "Add to Nynch failed for some prospects." → Fix: Some prospects may already be in your network (dedup blocks the import) or on your blocklist. The bulk action's confirmation dialog shows per-prospect status.
