Force-resync a connected calendar

You'll learn how to: Force Nynch to re-pull your calendar events instead of waiting for the next scheduled sync, useful when the Meetings tab is showing stale data.

Time: 30 seconds to trigger. Sync completes in 1-2 minutes for typical workspaces.

Prereqs: Your calendar is already connected (Google or Outlook).

When to use

Calendar sync runs in the background automatically every few minutes. Trigger a manual resync when:

  • You just added or accepted an important meeting and want it on the Today feed now, not in 5 minutes.
  • You changed which calendars Google / Microsoft is sharing with Nynch.
  • The Meetings tab seems to be missing recent events.
  • After fixing a permission issue (admin granted consent, you renewed access).

Steps

  1. Open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left).
  2. Click the Email & Calendar tab.
  3. Find the Google Calendar card (or Outlook Calendar, depending on which one you connected).
  4. Click Configure on the card.
  5. The setup wizard opens.
  6. Find the Re-sync now action (or equivalent refresh button).
  7. Click it.
  8. The wizard shows a "Syncing..." indicator. A toast confirms when it completes.

What the resync pulls

  • New events on the calendars you selected in the Calendar Selection modal.
  • Updated events (time changed, attendees changed, location changed) since the last sync.
  • Deleted events (which then disappear from the Meetings tab).
  • Past events within the configured backwards-window (default 90 days).

It does NOT re-import events outside the window. To widen the window, change the date range in the Configure wizard.

Change which calendars sync

If the resync still shows missing meetings, the cause may be that you didn't tick the right calendar in the Calendar Selection modal. Re-open it:

  1. On the Google Calendar card, click Configure.
  2. Find the Calendars section showing which calendars are currently synced.
  3. Tick / untick to change.
  4. Save.
  5. Run a resync after the change to pull events from newly-ticked calendars.

See Connect Google Calendar for the full Calendar Selection modal walkthrough.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Re-sync finishes but no new events appear." → Fix: Either no new events exist on the synced calendars, or the events fall outside your import date range. Check Configure > date range first.
  • Symptom: "Sync fails with 'permission denied'." → Fix: OAuth token expired or was revoked. Click Reconnect on the card and walk the OAuth flow again.
  • Symptom: "Sync hangs at 'Syncing...' for more than 5 minutes." → Fix: Big calendars (decades of history) can take longer on the first sync. After the initial fill, subsequent syncs are fast (just deltas). If it stays stuck past 30 minutes, refresh the page and try once more.
  • Symptom: "Resync added events I didn't expect." → Fix: A calendar you ticked has events you didn't realise. Untick it and run resync again. Already-imported events from that calendar stay; only new ones stop coming.
