Run a Pipeline Review coaching session

You'll learn how to: Review your active opportunities with the AI coach, spot risks and bottlenecks, and chart the next moves across your pipeline.

Time: 20 minutes per session, end-to-end.

Prereqs: You have active opportunities in your pipeline. Coaching enabled on your plan.

When to use

  • Monday morning pipeline standup. Walk through your forecast with the coach before talking to the team.
  • After a deal closes or falls. Use it to recalibrate the rest of the pipeline.
  • Quarterly forecast preparation. The coach helps you find risk and upsell patterns.
  • When pipeline feels stuck. Let the coach surface the deals that need action.

The session takes 20 minutes and produces a prioritised list of next moves grounded in your data.

Steps

  1. At the bottom-left of the sidebar, toggle to Strategy mode.
  2. Click Coaching.
  3. The Coaching hub shows canvases grouped by category.
  4. Click Pipeline Review (under Pipeline & Planning).
  1. A setup screen appears. Choose your scope:
    • All my opportunities (recommended for full-pipeline reviews).
    • A specific stage (use this to focus on one part of your funnel).
    • A specific account or contact (zoom into one relationship's pipeline).
  2. Click Start.
  3. The coach opens with a brief: what this session is for and what data it sees.
  4. The structured session begins. Typical flow:
    • The AI summarises your pipeline shape: deal count, total value, stage distribution.
    • It highlights deals at risk (stalled activity, decision makers quiet, timelines slipping).
    • It asks you about one or two deals that look stuck.
    • It surfaces upsell and expansion patterns in existing clients.
    • It generates a short list of priority actions: which deals need attention today, which can wait, which look winnable.
  5. Save or export the priority list. Suggested next steps:
    • Pin the list to your deal board.
    • Send it to a peer or manager for alignment.
    • Use it to shape your weekly calendar.

What's in a typical output

  • Pipeline shape (count, value, stage distribution).
  • Deals flagged as at-risk (quiet for 7+ days, stalled decision, timeline slipping).
  • Upsell and expansion patterns within existing clients.
  • Three to five priority actions you can execute this week.
  • Recommended follow-up: which deals to call, which proposals to sharpen, which clients to deepen.

After the session

Use the priority list to shape your next 7 days. Log notes on the deals you follow up with so the next Proposal Teardown, Meeting Prep, or Win/Loss session inherits your progress.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Pipeline Review canvas isn't in the Coaching hub." → Fix: Your plan doesn't include Coaching. Check avatar > Settings > Account.
  • Symptom: "Setup screen says 'No opportunities found.'" → Fix: You have no active opportunities. Add a deal to your pipeline first via the Opportunities view.
  • Symptom: "The output feels generic." → Fix: Two likely causes:
    • Your opportunities have minimal activity logged (no notes, no follow-ups, no recent interactions). The coach is only as good as the data. Add more.
    • Your pipeline stages aren't set up. Go to Settings > Pipeline Stages and define your funnel first.
  • Symptom: "Session ended without a priority list." → Fix: The coach needs you to answer its questions. If you skipped them, restart and engage with each prompt.
  • Symptom: "I want to re-run the session." → Fix: Each Coaching session is preserved. Opening Pipeline Review again offers a "Resume" or "Start fresh" choice.
