Deal canvas: Map People tab

You'll learn how to: Use the Map People tab to manage who's involved in the deal, what role each person plays, and how engaged they are.

Time: 30 seconds per stakeholder. The whole tab is fast.

Prereqs: A deal open on the canvas.

Where it is

Open a deal on Revenue. The canvas opens. Click the third tab, Map People.

What's on the tab

A list of every stakeholder linked to the deal. The primary contact is at the top with a "Primary" badge. Everyone else (the committee) is listed below.

For each stakeholder you see:

  • Photo, name, title, company.
  • Role badge: Economic Buyer, Champion, Coach, Influencer, Detractor (or no role yet).
  • Engagement bar: how engaged they've been recently (email opens, meeting attendance, replies).
  • Last-touched date.
  • Inline actions: Send email, Schedule meeting, Send LinkedIn message, Open profile.
  • More actions: Make Primary, Change role, Remove from deal.

Add a stakeholder

Click + Add Stakeholder at the top of the tab.

  1. Pick a contact via the contact picker. Existing Nynch contacts surface as you type. Use + New Contact in the picker to create one inline.
  2. Pick their role:
    • Economic Buyer: who controls the budget.
    • Champion: who's internally selling the project for you.
    • Coach: who helps you navigate the buyer's organisation but isn't a buyer themselves.
    • Influencer: who shapes the decision without owning it.
    • Detractor: who's actively against the deal.
  3. (Optional) Add a note: what you know about their position, fears, what they care about.
  4. Save.

The new stakeholder appears in the list with the role badge.

Promote a stakeholder to primary

If the deal's main contact changes (Champion takes over after the original buyer leaves, etc.):

  1. Find the stakeholder you want to promote.
  2. Click Make Primary on their row.
  3. The previous primary moves to the committee with their previous role intact.
  4. The deal title updates if it was the auto-generated "Deal with <name>" format.

Full walkthrough: Promote a stakeholder to primary.

Change a role

Click Change role on a stakeholder's row. Pick a new role from the picker. Saves immediately.

Remove a stakeholder

More-actions > Remove from deal. They stay in your overall network, but they're no longer linked to this deal.

Detected gaps

Above the list, the AI may show a Detect buying committee suggestion if it thinks you're missing an obvious role (e.g. a six-figure deal with only Champions on the committee and no Economic Buyer). Accept to have the AI propose specific people to add.

Engagement bars in detail

The engagement bar measures recent interactions:

  • Green (high): replying to emails, attending meetings, reacting on LinkedIn within the last 2-4 weeks.
  • Amber (moderate): some signal but going cold.
  • Red (low): no signal in 30+ days.

This makes it obvious which committee members have gone dark. Re-engagement is usually the highest-leverage move when a deal stalls.

Fear matrix and stakeholder detail

Click a stakeholder's row to expand their detail panel:

  • Fear matrix: what the AI thinks their personal fears about the change are, and what could counter them. Editable.
  • Engagement history: a small timeline of every interaction.
  • Notes: free-form text specific to this stakeholder on this deal.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "+ Add Stakeholder is greyed out." → Fix: Your deal might not have a company linked, and the methodology requires one. Add the company on the Check Fit tab first.
  • Symptom: "Contact picker says 'No matches'." → Fix: The person isn't in your Nynch network yet. Use + New Contact in the picker, or close and add them via Contacts first.
  • Symptom: "Engagement bar is empty even though they engaged recently." → Fix: Make sure their email matches one Nynch has seen. Check the contact's email field. Engagement bars also take up to an hour to update after fresh activity.
  • Symptom: "Make Primary action isn't there." → Fix: A primary contact must already be set on the deal. Set one on the Check Fit tab first.
  • Symptom: "I added the wrong person." → Fix: More-actions on their row > Remove from deal. They stay in your network; only the deal link is broken.
