You'll learn how to: Hook your Outlook (Microsoft 365 / work) calendar into Nynch so events land on the right contact and deal timelines.
Time: 2 minutes.
Before you start
- You need a work or personal Microsoft account that owns the calendar.
- Your admin must allow third-party app sign-in for that tenant (most do by default).
- The Gmail / Outlook integrations are independent. Connecting one does not affect the other. You can have both.
Steps
- Open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left of sidebar).
- Click the Email & Calendar tab at the top.
- Scroll to the Email & Calendar Integrations panel.
- Find the Outlook Calendar card. It will show the description "Sync your Outlook Calendar events".
- Click Connect on the right side of the card.
- A Microsoft sign-in window opens. Pick the account that holds the calendar.
- On the consent screen, approve the requested calendar-read permissions.
- The window closes and the card flips to show a Connected badge.
- A "Setup complete!" toast confirms the link.
- Nynch immediately starts a one-time backfill of past events. A progress banner appears: "Importing Outlook calendar history...".
The first import covers your recent history. Forward sync (new events) runs on a schedule from then on. See Resync a calendar if you ever need to force a refresh.
What Nynch does with the data
- Reads events to attach them to the right contact and deal timelines.
- Uses attendee emails to match the event to existing contacts in your workspace.
- Does NOT write to your calendar. Outlook Calendar is read-only by Nynch.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "Sign-in window closes immediately with no toast." → Fix: Your browser may have blocked the popup. Allow popups for app.nynch.com and click Connect again.
- Symptom: "We could not connect. Admin consent required." → Fix: Your tenant has admin-only consent enabled. Forward the consent URL to your IT admin or ask them to pre-approve the Nynch app in Entra ID, then retry.
- Symptom: "Card shows Reconnect Required after a few weeks." → Fix: The OAuth token expired or you changed your Microsoft password. Click the refresh icon next to the card and re-sign in.
- Symptom: "Events from a shared/team calendar are not appearing." → Fix: Only the primary calendar of the signed-in account is synced. Shared calendars are not pulled in v1. Switch to the owning account if you need those events.
- Symptom: "Import banner has been spinning for over 30 minutes." → Fix: Click Cancel on the banner, then click Configure on the Outlook Calendar card and pick a narrower date range for the backfill.
