Connect your LinkedIn profile for relationship intelligence

You'll learn how to: Connect your LinkedIn profile (yours, not contacts') so Nynch can do relationship strength analysis grounded in your real network.

Time: 2 minutes.

Prereqs: A LinkedIn account. This is your personal LinkedIn, not the Chrome extension for capturing contacts.

Why connect

The Chrome extension captures contacts FROM LinkedIn. This separate connection is about YOUR profile: who you are, what your network looks like, what positioning you've claimed publicly. Nynch uses it to:

  • Calculate relationship strength scores based on connection signals.
  • Detect overlap between you and your contacts (mutual connections, shared groups, common employers).
  • Inform AI-drafted email tone (LinkedIn bio shapes your authority claim).
  • Surface dormant connections worth reactivating.

If you skip this, AI features still work but relationship scoring is less accurate.

Steps

  1. Open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left).
  2. Click the Profile tab.
  3. Scroll to the Relationship Intelligence card. The card has a Brain icon and a description: "Enable AI-powered relationship strength analysis and touchpoint insights".
  4. Click Connect LinkedIn Profile.
  5. Walk the LinkedIn enrichment dialog. The flow typically asks for your LinkedIn URL or signs you in through LinkedIn OAuth.
  6. Confirm. Nynch fetches and indexes your profile.

Once connected, the card shows an Enabled badge in the header, and the button changes to Update LinkedIn Profile.

What gets fetched

  • Your headline, current job, location.
  • Your work history (used as authority context).
  • A summary of your connections (counts, industries, locations). Nynch does not store individual connection details from this step; the Chrome extension is for individual contact capture.
  • Public posts you've made recently (used for tone).

Update later

If your LinkedIn changes (new job, new headline, you publish significant new posts):

  1. Open Settings > Profile > Relationship Intelligence card.
  2. Click Update LinkedIn Profile.
  3. The flow re-runs and pulls the latest data.

A small "Last researched" timestamp on the card tells you when the data was last refreshed.

See the Relationship Intelligence report

Below the Connect / Update button, the Relationship Intelligence Report section shows what Nynch learned about you:

  • Your authority signals.
  • Your network composition (by industry, by region).
  • Your touchpoint patterns (how you actually engage with your network historically).

Use it to spot-check that the AI is grounding in the right things.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Relationship Intelligence card isn't there." → Fix: Your plan may not include it. Check Settings > Account.
  • Symptom: "Connect button greyed out." → Fix: Reload the page. The button can fail to enable on slow page loads.
  • Symptom: "Connection completes but the Enabled badge doesn't appear." → Fix: Refresh the page. The badge updates on next data load.
  • Symptom: "I want to disconnect." → Fix: Look for a Disconnect action on the card's more-actions menu. Disconnecting clears the indexed profile data from Nynch.

Privacy

  • Nynch fetches data from your LinkedIn profile that's visible to you while signed in.
  • Nynch does NOT share your LinkedIn data with teammates by default.
  • Nynch does NOT do anything visible to your connections (no auto-messaging, no auto-likes).
  • You can disconnect any time and the indexed data is removed.
