You'll learn how to: Cleanly remove a connected Outlook (Microsoft 365 / work) mailbox from Nynch.

When to disconnect
- You're swapping accounts.
- You're moving from a trial account to your real work mailbox.
- You're leaving the workspace and want the integration detached first.
- Compliance or privacy reasons.
Disconnect does NOT delete already-imported emails from contact timelines. It just stops forward sync and breaks the send-from-Nynch capability for that account.
Steps
- Open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left of sidebar).
- Click the Email & Calendar tab.
- Scroll to the Email & Calendar Integrations panel.
- Find the Outlook card. It shows the Connected badge plus your last sync status.
- Click the trash-can icon on the right edge of the card (its aria-label is "Disconnect Outlook").
- A confirmation prompt appears.
- Confirm.
- A toast confirms: "Integration disconnected".
The card flips back to showing a single Connect button.
What happens
- Nynch deletes its stored OAuth credential for the mailbox.
- Past imported emails STAY on contact timelines. They are not deleted.
- New mail stops being synced.
- Send-from-Nynch capability for this account stops working.
- Any in-flight backfill is cancelled.
If you also have Outlook Calendar connected, it is a separate integration. Disconnecting Outlook mail leaves Outlook Calendar connected (and vice versa). See Disconnect Google Calendar for the calendar-only flow, or repeat the same steps on the Outlook Calendar card.
Reconnect later
If you want to come back:
- Open Settings to Email & Calendar.
- Click Connect on the Outlook card.
- Walk the Microsoft sign-in flow again. See Connect Outlook to Nynch.
Reconnecting starts a fresh forward sync from the moment of reconnection. If you need historical mail again, click Configure on the reconnected card and pick a date range for the backfill.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "Disconnect button is greyed out." → Fix: You are not signed in or the page is stale. Refresh and try again.
- Symptom: "I got a 'Failed to disconnect' error." → Fix: Microsoft's API can be briefly unavailable. Retry in a minute. If it persists, revoke Nynch's access manually from
myaccount.microsoft.comunder "Apps and services" and then click Disconnect again in Nynch to clean up the local record. - Symptom: "Card still shows Connected after disconnect." → Fix: Refresh the page once. The card reads from a cached integration list.
- Symptom: "Past emails disappeared from contact timelines." → Fix: Disconnect should preserve imported data. If timelines are missing emails, contact support.
