Pin the Nynch extension to your Chrome toolbar

You'll learn how to: Make the Nynch Chrome extension icon visible in your Chrome toolbar so you can click it directly instead of digging through the puzzle-piece menu.

Time: 30 seconds, one time.

Prereqs: The Nynch extension is installed. See Install the Nynch Chrome extension if you haven't yet.

Steps

  1. In Chrome, look at the top-right corner. You'll see a puzzle-piece icon (Chrome's extension menu) next to the address bar.
  2. Click the puzzle-piece icon.
  3. A dropdown shows every installed extension.
  4. Find Nynch in the list.
  5. Next to it, click the pin icon (looks like a small thumbtack). It toggles between unpinned (faded) and pinned (highlighted).
  6. The Nynch icon now appears in your Chrome toolbar permanently.

That's it. No restart needed.

Why pin it

When the extension is unpinned, you click the puzzle-piece icon every time you want to open Nynch from a LinkedIn page or to check a contact's quick context. Pinning saves you one click hundreds of times.

The pinned icon also shows status indicators (badge counts, sign-in state) that aren't visible from inside the puzzle-piece menu.

Drag to reorder

Once pinned, you can drag the Nynch icon left or right to position it next to other pinned extensions. Common pattern: keep Nynch on the far-right so it's right next to the address bar.

Unpin

Same flow. Click the puzzle-piece icon, find Nynch, click the pin icon again to unpin. The icon moves back into the puzzle-piece menu.

Right-click menu

Right-click the pinned Nynch icon to see:

  • Open Nynch (opens app.nynch.com in a new tab).
  • Options (extension settings, usually empty for the Nynch extension since it's configured via the Nynch web app).
  • Remove from Chrome (uninstalls the extension entirely; don't click by accident).
  • Pin / Unpin.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Puzzle-piece icon isn't there." → Fix: Some Chrome themes hide it. Click the three-dot menu (further right) → More tools → Extensions. The extensions page lets you manage pins too.
  • Symptom: "Pin icon won't click." → Fix: Your Chrome may be on a corporate / managed install that locks extension pinning. Ask IT.
  • Symptom: "I pinned but the icon isn't showing." → Fix: Your toolbar may have run out of horizontal space. Drag the address bar smaller or remove a different pinned extension to make room.
  • Symptom: "I'm using Edge / Brave / Arc, not Chrome." → Fix: Chromium-based browsers have the same puzzle-piece menu, in the same place. The flow is identical.
