Engage with your network

You'll learn how to: use Engage as a practical monitoring view for relationships you already care about.

Time: 3-5 minutes per pass.

Prereqs:

  • The Engage section is available on your plan.
  • The Chrome extension is installed.
  • The contacts you want to monitor sit in rhythms with Monitor LinkedIn posts turned on.

What Engage is for

Engage is the place to watch public activity from monitored contacts without pretending it covers everything.

At the top, you get Watch Signals. These are the derived business alerts worth checking first. Underneath, you get Raw LinkedIn posts. These are the stored posts behind those alerts.

That split matters. Alerts are the shortlist. Raw posts are the evidence.

What you can control

Use the top controls to narrow the view:

  • Rhythm / List to focus on one rhythm or active deals.
  • Sort to switch between most recent, needs attention, relevance, or warmest contacts.
  • Warmth to focus on stronger relationships.

You will also see a warning when you are monitoring more than 30 contacts, because only 30 are queued per collection cycle.

Best way to work the page

  1. Open Engage from the sidebar.
  2. Start with the Watch Signals cards at the top.
  3. Open the original post when the alert matters and you want the exact wording.
  4. Use Pursue or Dismiss to keep the signal list honest.
  5. Use the raw post feed below when you want more context, not as the main decision surface.

What Engage does not do

  • It does not scrape continuously in the background. LinkedIn has to be open.
  • It does not guarantee full coverage if you monitor more than 30 contacts at once.
  • It does not merge every signal source in the product into one perfect timeline.

If you need broader coverage, the honest fix is to monitor fewer people per rhythm or expect staggered collection over time.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Engage is empty." -> Fix: make sure monitored rhythms exist, the extension is installed, and LinkedIn has been open recently.
  • Symptom: "I only see raw posts." -> Fix: raw post collection works with Monitor LinkedIn posts alone. Alerts need Create business-signal alerts turned on as well.
  • Symptom: "Coverage feels partial." -> Fix: if more than 30 contacts are being watched, some will wait for a later collection cycle.
