You'll learn how to: Uninstall Nynch Listener from your Windows machine.
Time: 3 minutes.
Prereqs: Nynch Listener installed on your device.
Important: Your recordings stay in Nynch
All transcripts from Listener recordings remain in Nynch (in People > Meetings) after you uninstall. Uninstalling Listener does not delete any of your meeting transcripts or data.
The only thing deleted is the app itself and any temporary files stored on your device.
Uninstall from Windows
- Click Start and open Settings (or press Windows key + I).
- Go to Apps > Apps & features.
- Scroll down and find Nynch Listener in the list.
- Click on Nynch Listener.
- Click Uninstall.
- A confirmation dialog appears asking "Are you sure you want to uninstall this app?". Click Uninstall again.
- Windows removes Listener from your machine. A progress bar shows the uninstall progress.
- Once complete, Nynch Listener no longer appears in your system tray or app list.
What gets deleted
When you uninstall Listener:
- The app files are removed.
- Your Deepgram API key (if you added one) is deleted from your device.
- Temporary recording files and cache are cleared.
Your transcripts, contacts, and all data in Nynch remain unchanged.
Reinstall later
If you want to use Listener again, you can reinstall it anytime:
- Sign into Nynch at app.nynch.com.
- Open your Settings > Integrations and find Nynch Listener.
- Click Download to get the installer.
- Install Listener using the steps in Install Nynch Listener.
Your previous recordings will still be in your Meetings list.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "The uninstall button is grayed out or doesn't work." → Fix: Make sure Listener is fully closed (not running in the system tray). If you see the Nynch icon in the tray, right-click it and choose Exit. Then try uninstalling again.
- Symptom: "After uninstalling and reinstalling, Listener asks for permissions again." → Fix: Yes, this is normal. On reinstall, your operating system treats it as a new app and asks for microphone and screen permissions again. Grant them as you did on first install.
- Symptom: "Some files or folders from Listener are still on my device after uninstalling." → Fix: This can happen if your system does not fully clean up temporary files. You can safely ignore them. If you want to remove them manually, contact Nynch support for a list of known Listener directories to delete.
