You'll learn how to: Add a named rhythm with a specific cadence so you can start assigning contacts to it.
Time: 1 minute.
When to add a new rhythm
You already have the basic cadences (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly). Add a new one when:
- You want a different cadence not covered by the defaults (e.g. Bi-weekly = 14d, Twice-yearly = 180d).
- You want a name-based segment (e.g. "Top Clients", "Investor Updates", "Mastermind Group") that uses a specific cadence.
- You're running a campaign / project where you want a temporary high-cadence touch sequence for a defined cohort.
If a contact only needs a different cadence and not a different name, override the cadence on the contact directly (see Relationship rhythms) instead of creating a new rhythm.
Steps
- Click Nurture in the left sidebar.
- Click + Create (top action row).
- A dialog opens. Fill in:
- Name: short, descriptive. Will appear in the Nurture view and in the bulk Assign to Rhythm action. Examples: "Top Clients", "Mastermind", "Quarterly Check-ins".
- Frequency in days: an integer. Common values: 7 (Weekly), 14 (Bi-weekly), 30 (Monthly), 60 (Bi-monthly), 90 (Quarterly), 180 (Twice-yearly), 365 (Yearly).
- Optional goal: a one-line note about what you're trying to achieve with this rhythm. Helps future-you remember why it exists.
- Click Save or Create.
The new rhythm appears as a card on the Nurture view, as an option in the bulk Assign to Rhythm action, and in the Sort flow.
What happens next
- The rhythm starts empty. Zero contacts.
- It immediately becomes available everywhere rhythms are selectable.
- It does NOT auto-populate. Add contacts via the Sort flow (Nurture > Sort), the bulk Assign to Rhythm action, or one-at-a-time from contact profiles.
See Relationship rhythms and Sort your network for the fastest way to add 50+ contacts to a fresh rhythm.
Delete or rename a rhythm
From the rhythm card on the Nurture view, click the more-actions icon (three dots). You can:
- Rename the rhythm without affecting member contacts.
- Change the frequency (will recalculate "due" status for every member contact from their last-touched date).
- Delete the rhythm (with a confirmation dialog that asks what to do with orphaned contacts: reassign or unassign).
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "+ Create action isn't there." → Fix: Your role may not allow rhythm creation in this workspace. Check with an owner or admin.
- Symptom: "I named it but the rhythm doesn't appear." → Fix: Refresh once. The Nurture view caches the rhythm list. New rhythms appear on next reload.
- Symptom: "Frequency field rejects my value." → Fix: Frequency must be a positive integer (days). It accepts 1-3650 typically (1 day to ~10 years).
- Symptom: "I created a rhythm with a typo and want to fix the name." → Fix: Rename via the rhythm card's more-actions menu. No need to recreate.
