Capture a LinkedIn profile

You'll learn how to: Import a person from a LinkedIn profile into Nynch and optionally assign them to a rhythm in one action.

Time: 2 minutes per profile.

Prereqs: The Nynch Chrome extension is installed (see Installing the Chrome extension).

Capture a single profile

Step 1: Open a LinkedIn profile

Visit any LinkedIn profile page (URL like /in/someone).
The Nynch extension's side panel and action buttons load on the right side of the page.

Step 2: Click "Add to Nynch"

Below the profile photo, click the Add to Nynch button.
The side panel opens and shows a preview of what will be captured: name, headline, company, location, and connection degree.

Step 3: Choose save or save and assign

The preview pane has two options:

Save to Nynch: import the profile as-is into your Nynch network with no rhythm assignment.
Save & Assign to Rhythm: import the profile and immediately assign them to one of your rhythms (for example, "Weekly check-in" or "90-Day relationship").

If you click Save & Assign to Rhythm, a dropdown appears listing all your active rhythms. Pick one and click Save & Assign to Rhythm.

Step 4: Confirmation

Once the import finishes, the button changes to Open in Nynch (a link that opens the person's profile in the Nynch app). A green success toast appears briefly: "Added to Nynch" or "Added to Nynch and rhythm".

What gets captured

When you import a person from LinkedIn, Nynch captures:

Name, headline, company, location
Profile photo and LinkedIn URL
Connection degree (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or follower)
About section (if present)
Experience, education, and skills
Mutual connections (if visible)

The profile is deduplicated by LinkedIn URL, so if this person is already in your network, the import is skipped and the button immediately shows Open in Nynch.

If something goes wrong

Symptom: I clicked Add to Nynch but the preview panel did not open. → Fix: Wait a moment for the panel to load. If nothing appears after 3 seconds, try refreshing the LinkedIn page and clicking again.
Symptom: "Already in Nynch" appears instead of the Save button. → Fix: This person is already in your network. The Open in Nynch button opens their existing profile. If you wanted to re-capture their profile data, go to their contact in Nynch and use the refresh or resync option.
Symptom: The import worked but the rhythm was not assigned. → Fix: Click Save & Assign to Rhythm and pick a rhythm from the dropdown before clicking Save. Make sure the rhythm is active (not archived).
Symptom: The import fails with an error. → Fix: Check your internet connection. If the issue persists, try logging out of Nynch and back in, then refresh the LinkedIn page.
