Set quiet hours for notifications

You'll learn how to: Tell Nynch to stop pinging you outside working hours, while keeping truly urgent alerts (e.g. a deal-status change a teammate makes) coming through.

Time: 1 minute.

Steps

  1. Open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left of sidebar).
  2. Click the Notifications tab.
  3. Find the Quiet hours section.
  4. Toggle quiet hours On.
  5. Set the start time and end time (using your local timezone, which is shown above the toggle).
  6. (Optional) Pick which days the quiet window applies. Common patterns:
    • "Weekdays only" (so weekend mornings stay quiet by default).
    • "Every day" (consistent boundaries).
    • "Custom" with specific days.
  7. Save (some configs auto-save; some need an explicit save button at the bottom of the section).

During the configured window, Nynch holds non-urgent notifications. They batch into a digest you see when the window ends.

What's held vs what gets through

Held during quiet hours:

  • Daily / weekly email digests.
  • Signal pings (new social signal, new email from a contact, new meeting prep ready).
  • AI suggestions and Approvals queue notifications.
  • General nudges.

Comes through anyway:

  • Direct @mentions from teammates.
  • Critical workspace events (an admin removed you, a deal in your pipeline was reassigned to you).
  • Anything you've explicitly marked as always-deliver in the notification preferences.

If you want a hard-mute (no notifications at all during the window), turn off Allow critical notifications during quiet hours.

Pair with timezone

The timezone Nynch uses to evaluate quiet hours is your profile's configured timezone (Settings → Profile). If you've travelled or never set it, set it now. The window won't work right if your timezone is wrong.

Multiple time windows

Most workspaces only support one quiet-hours window. If you want different windows for weekdays vs weekends (e.g. quiet 8pm-7am weekdays AND all weekend), turn the toggle on with the weekday window and use the "All day" toggle on weekend days for full-day silence.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "Quiet hours saved but notifications still come through." → Fix: Refresh the page. The settings page can have stale UI state. Also check that your profile timezone is correct (Settings → Profile).
  • Symptom: "I set quiet hours but the digest still arrives at 7am." → Fix: Daily digests have their own send time. Either align quiet hours to overlap the digest send (so the digest gets held), or change the digest send time in the Notifications tab.
  • Symptom: "I want notifications on my phone to also respect quiet hours." → Fix: Browser push notifications respect quiet hours by default. Mobile companion app (if any) inherits the same setting; verify in its preferences.
  • Symptom: "Quiet hours not working on weekends." → Fix: Check that "Weekdays only" isn't selected. The day-picker is easy to miss.
