You'll learn how to: Find a failed recording and retry the upload to Nynch.
Time: 2 minutes.
Prereqs: A recording that did not complete upload to Nynch.
Find the failed recording
- Open Nynch Listener.
- Look for a Recordings list or panel, usually at the bottom-left of the app window.
- Scroll through the list. Failed recordings usually show a red icon, "Failed" badge, or a warning indicator next to the title.
Step 1: Check why it failed
Click the failed recording. Listener may show an error message such as:
- "Network error. Please check your connection."
- "Upload failed. Deepgram could not process this recording."
- "Invalid audio format."
If the error suggests a network issue, make sure you are connected to the internet before retrying. If it's a Deepgram error, see "If something goes wrong" below.
Step 2: Retry the upload
- Find the failed recording in the Recordings list.
- Click the Retry button next to it (or right-click and select Retry).
- Listener will re-upload the audio and attempt to transcribe it again.
- Watch the progress indicator. The recording will move back to the Recordings list once upload completes.
Delete a failed recording
If you don't want to retry a recording, you can delete it:
- Find the failed recording in the Recordings list.
- Click the delete or trash icon next to it (or right-click and select Delete).
- Confirm when prompted. The recording is permanently deleted from your device.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "I clicked Retry but it still says 'Failed'." → Fix: Check your internet connection. If you're connected, wait a few moments and try clicking Retry again. If it fails a second time, the recording may be corrupted or Deepgram may have an issue. Contact Nynch support with the recording title and timestamp.
- Symptom: "The error says 'Deepgram could not process this recording.'" → Fix: The audio file may be too large, too long, or in an unsupported format. Listener uses your system's built-in audio capture, so the format should be correct. If the recording is over 2 hours, try breaking it into shorter segments. If the issue persists, contact Nynch support.
- Symptom: "I see a recording in the list but no Retry button." → Fix: The recording may have already been successfully uploaded and is now showing in your Meetings list in Nynch. Check Where Listener recordings go to confirm. If you still see it in the Recordings list, it may be in progress or pending deletion. Wait a moment and refresh.
- Symptom: "How long will a retry take?" → Fix: Retry times depend on your internet speed and the recording length, but typically take 1 to 5 minutes for a 30-minute recording. You can leave Listener open in the background while it uploads.
