You'll learn how to: Enrol selected contacts into an existing campaign so they start receiving the sequence.
Time: 30 seconds.
Prereqs: You have at least one campaign already configured. See Create a new outreach campaign to build one.
Steps
- Click People in the left sidebar.
- Click the People tab.
- (Optional) Filter to the cohort you want to enrol.
- Tick the checkboxes for every contact you want in the campaign.
- The bulk-action toolbar slides up from the bottom.
- Click More (three horizontal dots).
- Click Add to Campaign (envelope icon).
- A dialog appears listing your active campaigns.
- Pick the campaign.
- Confirm.
The selected contacts are enrolled. The campaign's first step fires for each according to the campaign's send strategy.
Per-contact validation
When you confirm, the dialog may warn you about contacts that can't be enrolled:
- Already in this campaign: they're skipped (no duplicate enrolment).
- Missing required field (e.g. no email when the campaign starts with an email step): they're skipped.
- On the do-not-contact blocklist: skipped.
- Recently completed this campaign: optional skip based on the campaign's re-enrolment rules.
The dialog lets you choose: skip with warning, or override and enrol anyway (where the campaign allows).
Different campaign types
The Add to Campaign action enrols contacts in the chosen campaign regardless of type:
- Email sequence: contacts get the email-step cadence.
- LinkedIn cadence: contacts get the LinkedIn-step cadence (requires the Chrome extension installed and a LinkedIn URL on file).
- Mixed: alternating channels.
The campaign's own configuration determines what happens. the Add to Campaign action just enrols.
Single-contact enrolment
From a single contact's profile, look for + Add to campaign in the more-actions menu. Same dialog, same campaign list, just for one contact.
Unenroll a contact
From the contact's profile, the active campaign appears as a chip on their record. Click the X on the chip to unenroll. The contact stops receiving the sequence as of next step evaluation.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "Add to Campaign isn't in the More menu." → Fix: Your workspace doesn't have any active campaigns, OR the entity is wrong (campaigns enrol contacts, not opportunities or companies). Switch the table to the People tab and try again.
- Symptom: "Dialog says 0 contacts will be enrolled." → Fix: Every selected contact is either already in this campaign, missing the required field, or on the blocklist. Check the per-contact warning text.
- Symptom: "I enrolled but nothing has fired yet." → Fix: Campaign send-time settings respect business hours, quiet hours, and per-contact timezone. Check the campaign's schedule. The first send can be a few hours delayed by design.
- Symptom: "I want to enrol but at a specific step, not step 1." → Fix: Standard enrolment always starts at step 1. To start partway through, you'd need to clone the campaign with the steps you want, or skip steps via the campaign's per-contact override on the contact profile after enrolment.
