Capture your LinkedIn connections

You'll learn how to: Import all your LinkedIn connections into Nynch at once, with names, headlines, and connection dates.

Time: 10-20 minutes for the import to complete (varies by list size).

Prereqs: The Nynch Chrome extension is installed (see Installing the Chrome extension).

Why import your connections

Importing your LinkedIn connections is the fastest way to get your existing network into Nynch. It captures everyone you already know and gives you a baseline to start layering engagement rhythms and tracking on top of.

Start the import

Step 1: Go to your LinkedIn connections list

  1. In LinkedIn, click your Profile icon in the top right.
  2. Click Connections or go directly to /mynetwork/discover/connections/.
  3. Your full connections list loads.

Step 2: Trigger the import

  1. The Nynch extension detects you are on the connections page.
  2. In the side panel, you should see a button or message about importing connections.
  1. Click the button to start the scan. A dialog or panel appears asking you to confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and start

  1. A confirmation message appears: "This will import all your visible connections. This may take a few minutes."
  2. Click Start or Import all connections.

How it works

The extension runs in batches:

  1. LinkedIn loads your connections list in chunks as you scroll. The extension reads what it can see on the page.
  2. It automatically scrolls through your entire list, capturing each person's name, headline, LinkedIn URL, photo, and connection date.
  3. You may see the page scroll while the scan is running. This is normal. Do not close the tab or extension during the scan.
  4. Once all connections are captured, they are sent to Nynch for import.

Step 4: Monitor progress

A progress bar or message appears in the side panel showing:

  • "Scanning X of Y connections"
  • "Importing X connections"

The scan and import usually finish in 5-15 minutes, depending on your list size.

Step 5: Confirmation

When the import completes, a success toast appears: "Imported X connections".

If any connections were already in Nynch, they are skipped (deduped by LinkedIn URL).

What gets captured

For each connection, Nynch captures:

  • Name
  • Headline (current title and company)
  • LinkedIn URL
  • Profile photo
  • Connection date (when you connected)

Nynch does not capture private information like email or phone, as those are not visible on the connections list.

After the import

Once your connections are in Nynch:

  1. They appear in your Contacts with a "Connection date" field.
  2. You can search and filter them like any other contact.
  3. Assign them to rhythms to start automating outreach.
  4. Add notes and tags to organize them.
  5. Later, you can add their email addresses and other details manually or via integrations.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: No import button appears on the connections page. → Fix: Make sure you are on /mynetwork/.../connections/. Refresh the page. Also confirm you are logged in to Nynch in another tab.
  • Symptom: The scan started but appears to be stuck. → Fix: Wait up to 20 minutes. The scan speed depends on your list size and internet speed. If it is genuinely frozen after 20+ minutes, close and reopen the extension (Settings > Extensions > Nynch > Reload) and try again.
  • Symptom: Only some connections were imported. → Fix: The scan may have been interrupted. Check the success toast for how many were actually imported. You can run the scan again; duplicates (already-imported connections) will be skipped.
  • Symptom: "Import failed" error. → Fix: Make sure your Nynch account is active and in good standing. If the error persists, log out and back in to Nynch, then try the import again.
  • Symptom: Connections were imported but are missing data (headline, photo). → Fix: LinkedIn may not have displayed all details on the page when the scan ran. Open a connection in Nynch, click Refresh from LinkedIn, and the extension will re-capture the full profile.

Keeping your connections list in sync

The connections import is a one-time scan. After that:

  • New connections you make on LinkedIn are not automatically added to Nynch.
  • You can periodically run the import again. Already-imported connections are deduped, so only new ones are added.
  • Or, add new connections manually by visiting their profile and clicking Add to Nynch.
