You'll learn how to: Choose which fields are visible on each Kanban card so the board shows exactly the info you scan for.
Time: 1 minute.
Prereqs: You're on the Kanban view of Contacts or Companies. (The Kanban toggle is on the toolbar's right side.)
Steps
- Open Contacts (or Companies).
- Switch to Kanban view via the view toggle on the toolbar.
- On the toolbar, find the Card settings icon (looks like a card / layout icon, sits near the View Options popover).
- Click it.
- A panel opens with toggles for every available field:
- Title (e.g. job title).
- Company (for contacts).
- Email.
- Phone.
- Tags.
- ICP score.
- Last contacted.
- Rhythm membership.
- Custom fields (per workspace).
- Tick the fields you want visible. Untick the ones you don't.
- (Optional) Drag-reorder if the panel supports it.
- Close the panel. Cards refresh immediately.
Settings are per-entity per-user
- Contact cards and Company cards have separate settings. Configure each independently.
- Settings are per-user. Your teammate doesn't see your changes; they have their own card settings.
- Settings persist across sessions until you change them.
Reset to defaults
If the cards look wrong:
- Open the Card settings panel.
- Click Reset to defaults.
Defaults vary by workspace plan and entity type but are sensible starting points.
Trade-off: density vs context
- Minimal cards (just name + title + company): more cards fit on screen, easier to scan a long stage.
- Dense cards (name + title + tags + ICP + last contacted): fewer cards fit, but each one has the context you need without clicking through.
Pick based on how you use the board. Density matters when you're triaging dozens of cards; context matters when you have a smaller pipeline and want to make decisions at-a-glance.
What this doesn't change
- The List view's columns are configured separately under View Options > Fields.
- The contact profile detail view always shows everything; this only affects the Kanban card.
- The Orbit view (for deals) has its own visualisation rules.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "Card settings icon isn't on the toolbar." → Fix: You're not on Kanban view. Switch via the view toggle. The icon only appears in Kanban.
- Symptom: "I ticked a custom field but it's not on the card." → Fix: Make sure the field has a value on at least the visible cards. Some card layouts hide fields when they're empty across all visible cards.
- Symptom: "Cards look totally different from my teammate's." → Fix: Settings are per-user. If you want a consistent team view, ask everyone to apply the same configuration. There's no shared "team card layout" today.
- Symptom: "Resetting to defaults didn't change anything." → Fix: You may already be on defaults. Toggle individual fields to verify the panel is working.
