Deal canvas: Check Fit tab

You'll learn how to: Use the Check Fit tab (the deal canvas's first tab) to triage where a deal stands and what to do next, without scrolling through every detail.

Time: 1-3 minutes per deal once you know what to look at.

Prereqs: A deal open in the canvas. Open a deal by clicking it on the Revenue board.

Where it is

Open any deal on Revenue. The deal canvas opens. The tab strip shows five numbered tabs in order:

  1. Check Fit (you are here)
  2. Research Account
  3. Map People
  4. Proposal
  5. Deal Room

Check Fit is the default. Use it as the daily-driver "what is this deal" view.

What's on the tab

Top to bottom:

AI Suggestions

Actionable insights the AI has generated from meeting analysis: "move stage to X", "add stakeholder Y", "watch out for Z". Each one has Accept / Reject. Approving an action applies it to the deal. Only appears for active deals (won / lost deals don't get fresh suggestions).

A count badge on the Check Fit tab label shows how many suggestions are pending.

What To Do Next (AI Brief)

A short AI-generated paragraph with the deal's current risk, momentum, and the single highest-leverage next move. Refresh with the icon in the section header. Collapsible.

Relationship Health

A small trend chart of how engagement with the primary contact has moved over the last few weeks. Useful for spotting deals that are warming up vs cooling off without realising. Collapsible.

Latest meeting outcome

If a meeting happened recently on this deal, this surfaces the AI-generated summary plus the suggested follow-up actions. Mark items handled or trigger follow-ups inline.

What They Said

Pulls quotes and signals from recorded meetings. The "voice of the buyer" condensed. Useful before drafting a proposal or follow-up. Collapsible.

Context Discussion

A Weiss-style structured discovery panel. Captures the buyer's situation, pain, vision, and decision criteria as a checklist you fill in over time. Collapsible.

Other Options They May Compare

Competitive landscape summary. Shows competitors the AI has detected being mentioned in conversations, plus your win history against each. Collapsible.

Signatures

Status of any e-signature requests sent for this deal (proposal signed, contract pending, etc.). Collapsible.

Fit Details

The Champ / MEDDIC / methodology-specific qualification fields. Updates score based on what you've filled in. Includes days-until-close and the AI's latest insights timestamp.

Comments

Free-form team comments thread. Visible to teammates with deal access.

How to use it day-to-day

The fastest morning pass on a deal:

  1. Open the deal.
  2. Glance at What To Do Next. One sentence; usually enough.
  3. Scan AI Suggestions count. If non-zero, action them.
  4. If the deal has a meeting in the last 7 days, read Latest meeting outcome.
  5. Open the next deal.

Total: 90 seconds per deal. Move to the deeper tabs (Research Account / Map People / Proposal / Deal Room) only when you need them.

If something goes wrong

  • Symptom: "AI Suggestions section is empty." → Fix: Either there are no fresh suggestions, or your plan doesn't include the AI agent that generates them. The section only renders for active deals.
  • Symptom: "What To Do Next says 'Generating...'." → Fix: Brief generation can take a moment after a meeting or a stage change. Click the refresh icon in the section header if it stays stuck.
  • Symptom: "Relationship Health chart is flat / empty." → Fix: Connect email and calendar so Nynch has activity to plot. Once connected and after a few weeks of data, the trend becomes informative.
  • Symptom: "Comments aren't appearing for my teammate." → Fix: Workspace sharing policy may restrict their visibility. Check Team settings.
