You'll learn how to: Change the deal's estimated value so it reflects in your pipeline totals and the forecast view.
Time: 5 seconds.
What "value" means here
The Value field is your estimated deal size in the workspace currency. It is what Nynch multiplies by the stage probability when totalling the pipeline and forecast.
- For one-shot sales, this is the contract value.
- For ongoing retainers, most users put the first-year ACV. Pick a convention and keep it consistent.
- If you change the workspace currency later, existing values are NOT auto-converted. They are interpreted as the new currency.
Steps
- Open the deal.
- At the very top of the deal canvas, find the Deal details bar.
- The Value field shows the workspace currency symbol next to the label (e.g. Value (£) or Value ($)).
- Click into the field. The current value becomes editable, with a number input.
- Type the new amount. Whole numbers are fine; decimals are accepted.
- Press Enter or click outside the field to save.
- The deal card on the pipeline updates its number, and the column / forecast totals re-calculate.
To clear it, click the field and delete the value. The deal will then be valued at zero in forecasts.
How value flows through the forecast
- The pipeline column header shows the probability-adjusted total of all deals in that stage (each deal's Value times its stage probability, summed in currency).
- The forecast view groups deals by Decision Date and sums them the same way.
- Changing a deal's value updates both immediately. No save button.
Common reasons to update
- The prospect changed scope (added or removed line items).
- You initially logged a rough placeholder and now you have a real quote.
- You moved from monthly to annual framing (or vice versa).
- A discount or upsell shifted the number.
If something goes wrong
- Symptom: "The Value field rejects my number." → Fix: Whole-number values work best. Strip currency symbols and thousands separators when typing. The field has min=0, so negative numbers will be rejected.
- Symptom: "I see the wrong currency symbol." → Fix: That comes from the workspace currency setting. See Set workspace currency.
- Symptom: "Saved, but the pipeline column total didn't change." → Fix: The column header reads from a cached aggregate. Refresh once.
- Symptom: "I want to track a multi-year retainer." → Fix: Pick a convention (year 1 ACV vs. total contract) and apply it consistently. Nynch doesn't auto-extrapolate.
